The Kathe Kruse company was founded in Berlin back in 1911 by Käthe Kruse. She was a true pioneer who produced soft and cuddly dolls that resembled her children and were “meant for loving.”
For over 100 years, guided by Käthe’s vision, Kathe Kruse products have been handcrafted with the same love and dedication, seamlessly blending age-old doll-making artistry with modern innovations.
Kathe Kruse is focused on combining sustainable production with superior quality and unique designs to create beautiful handmade dolls and soft toys that become life companions for children.
"The world around Kathe Kruse is a happy place, an environment that is full of love and joy. We want to add these same thoughts and feelings to our world. Our products helps us create the happy world we want future generations to live in."
Kathe Kruse has proudly held the Waldorf license for over 25 years. Their beautiful Waldorf Collection dolls stimulate imagination whilst conveying lifelike and natural emotions. Lovingly handcrafted, each doll is as unique as your child. Their facial features are deliberately subtle so your child can bring them to life with their imagination. Kathe Kruse Waldorf dolls are made exclusively from natural materials including organic sheep’s wool and organic cotton jersey. Warm, soft, and inviting, each doll is made to be held and loved.
Choosing your doll
For children under one a fabric doll, like our Cotton Imps and Ninis, are the best choice. For their first birthday, a doll with arms and legs for holding and cuddling is ideal, examples include our Nini, Nana or Lolo dolls. From three years, children prefer dolls that resemble them, as children want to act out their own life through their doll’s eyes. This makes dolls with matching features and accessories like clothes and toys more important. Kathe Kruse Nini Play Dolls are available in beautiful colours, patterns, and skin tones - ready to be personalised further with a wide range of additional clothes and accessories.
