Telleby Debresk - Toys to Play with and Toys to Enjoy

Debresk was originally founded by Joris Dekkers, Konrad Breidenstein and Anders Skanberg in 1987. After graduating from a Waldorf school in Sweden together, they later met and decided to make beautiful toys together.

The Debresk brand has now been acquired by Telleby workshops and the name will gradually change to Telleby Toys. The design and quality are the same, with all Telleby (formally Debresk) toys made at the Telleby social enterprise in Jarna, Sweden.

All Telleby wooden toys are made from sustainable European spruce and bear their trademark wood grain and soft sanded finish.

For a World Worth Taking Care of ...

Toys need to be something you want to take care of, something to protect, and not damaged.

In relationship to the things a child plays with, they develop a relationship to the world.

By playing with living materials, materials that have life, materials that need taking care of, we can help our children to grow up with a world worth taking care of!

Telleby: A Legacy of Social Impact

Founded in 1969 as "Järna Skyddade Verkstäder" by Geert Mulder, Telleby has remained true to its mission as a social enterprise for over five decades.

Telleby bridges societal challenges by creating meaningful connections—providing valuable work experiences for team members while delivering exceptional products and services to customers.

Telleby serves as a transformative platform where individuals build skills and professional identity through hands-on workshop production. This experience creates pathways to further education or employment opportunities.

As a non-profit foundation, Telleby operates with a unique business model—all surplus is reinvested directly into the mission. The organization believes in expanding workforce inclusion, demonstrating that people with disabilities are vital contributors to society.

Empowering individuals. Strengthening communities. Crafting with purpose.
