This box contains 12 high-grade triangular Stockmar Graphite B Pencils - a perfect thick lead writing pencil for Adults and Children. The Graphite B pencil is soft and smooth to write with.
Each pencil has an extra thick lead (6.25mm diameter) in an easy-to-hold triangular-shaped pencil (10mm diameter).
They are easy to sharpen and they can be sharpened with any large holed pencil sharpener.
The pencil is made using untreated lime tree wood from sustainable forestry and FSC-certified timber.
In Steiner education, the triangular grip pencil introduces the pencil grip to the child. It encourages holding the pencil in a relaxed and correct manner. This is important at the stage they begin to formally learn to write and draw.
In summary, the exploration and introduction of writing and drawing to the child follow the developmental readiness of the child:
First, the Stockmar Block Crayons are used to explore colour and form on paper.
Next, the Stockmar Stick Crayons are introduced to add more direction to the form.
This is followed by the Hexagonal Pencil to introduce finer detail just when interest to reading and writing begins.
